Christmas Cookies and Book Pairings – Day 7

Day 7 – Stockings and Spells by Nancy Warren

Stockings and Spells (Vampire Knitting Club #4)Crushed Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies

Here it is, my final pick. I chose today’s book based on the fact that it’s the most enjoyable book I read this year that was set entirely throughout the holiday season. It’s the 4th instalment of the Vampire Knitting Club cozy mystery series, and it’s my favourite since Book One. For the first time, it’s not exactly a murder mystery, which is a fresh take. Plus, it has an incredibly bookish storyline. There’s a holiday market setting, an emphasis on female friendships, an attempted murder (three, actually), a stolen manuscript, and, of course, knitting vampires. So, just your run-of-the-mill Christmas story.

Recipe: Crushed Candy Cane Chocolate Chip Cookies, because much like this book, it’s a delicious Christmassy twist on an already beloved foundation.

Merry Christmas (Eve) and Happy Holidays! I hope your winter isn’t too cold, but if it is, curl up with one of this past week’s books and you should feel at least a little warmer šŸ™‚
