Day 4 – Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik
If I had to describe this in one, very accessible sentence, I’d say: Grimm’s Fairytales meets Game of Thrones. Cold, hungry and poor, Miryem is sick of laying low in the face of the anti-semitism directed at her family. One night, she makes a decision that changes her whole life, and saves her family: she’s going to demand respect and get what’s owed to them. But her bravery reveals something even more special about her… something that catches the wrong eye: that of the evil, literally icy, Staryk King. Whisked away to a cold and unforgiving kingdom, Miryem faces a whole new set of challenges, as do the intertwining lives around her.
