Christmas Cookies and Book Pairings – Day 2

Day 2 – Magic For Liars by Sarah Gailey

Magic for Liars

Sometimes, all you need to get that magical Christmas feeling is read a book about magic… and murder. This story takes the oh-so-familiar magic school trope and gives the reader a new perspective on it. Our lead, Ivy, is summoned to the private academy not because she’s the chosen one or has latent magical abilities. No, Ivy is a fully grown and fully human PI. Her sister is the special one. The one with all the magic. An accomplished teacher at the academy. But when another teacher is found in literal pieces in the library, Ivy is the only person they can think of to help. After all, she’s an investigator, and she at least knows about magic’s existrence, even if she’s spent her whole life resenting it…

Recipe: Gingerbread Trees, because a creative twist on a classic always makes for a good time.

Check back tomorrow for another Holiday Pairing!
