Seasoning and roasting my own peanuts is one way that I make up for the fact that I can never buy fancy mixed nuts (I’m allergic to tree nuts, which really limits my options). Here’s my recipe for sweet & spicy paprika peanuts.
What you need:
- Large baking dish (greased)
- 1 egg white
- 1 tbsp water
- 3 cups peanuts
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne (or to taste)
What to do:
- preheat oven to 350 degrees F
- Add water to egg white and whisk until frothy
- Add peanuts and mix well
- Add sugar, paprika, cayenne and mix well
- Spread peanuts onto greased baking dish
- Bake for 40 minutes, stirring halfway through
- Let cool for at least 10 minutes
