Recently, I used scrubbing my house as a way to procrastinate NaNoWriMo – I hit a short-lived, mid-month, lull. But, I realized I hadn’t yet shared my recipes for DIY homemade cleaners. So, here we go 🙂
All Purpose Cleaner
Great for kitchen counters and appliance surfaces
In a spray bottle, add:
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops of lemon essential oil (or lavender)
- A little water
- 2 tbs baking soda
- Add the baking soda slowly! It will fizz up pretty high
- Once settled, fill the bottle the rest of the way with water (about 2 cups)
Note: After use, the baking soda will leave a thin film of white powder when it dries. To avoid this, do an extra swipe with just water.
Glass Cleaner
Great for mirrors, and glass and wood surfaces – dries streak-free
In a spray bottle, add:
- 1/4 cup white vinegar
- 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol
- 1 tbs cornstarch
- 10 drops of lemon essential oil (or lavender)
- 2 cups of water
Happy cleaning?… Or, at least, enjoy the lack of chemical-smells while you chore!
Very nice! Thank you 😊
