Poem – The Scream

I scream.

And suddenly…

scream collage

I am not silent; I am loud.

I am not small; I am big.

I am not invisible; I take up space and I fill it with my presence.

The scream lets me transcend victimhood.

The scream gives me control.

The scream is freedom.

The scream is truth.

The scream is articulate… somehow.

It articulates my frustrations and my fears.

It validates my emotions.

It affirms my existence.

It gives me power.

So, I scream.

And I love it.
